Overview of Previous Openings

    • The Shift Project hires full-time post-doctoral research fellows with a PhD in sociology, public policy, or related fields.
    • This position is based at the Harvard Kennedy School in Cambridge, MA, with an initial appointment term of one year, and the possibility of a second-year renewal based on performance.
    • The role is hybrid, requiring at least three days per week on-campus presence in Cambridge, MA, during the academic year.
    • We value a diverse research team and encourage applications from women, people of color, and other historically underrepresented groups in sociology and labor studies.
    • Post-doctoral fellows work closely with the Principal Investigators (PIs) and other team members, including graduate and undergraduate students, pre-doctoral fellows, and research staff, participating in regular team meetings.
    • Fellows receive hands-on training through planned research activities, along with additional professional and research mentorship from the PIs.
    • They are encouraged to co-author with the PIs and to pursue their independent research agendas.
    • Post-doctoral fellows receive a competitive salary and are eligible for Harvard University’s partially subsidized healthcare options, including medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
