On May 1, 2025, Kristen Harknett took part in a two-day convening of The Futures Project on Education and Learning for Longer Lives —a joint initiative of the Stanford Center on Longevity and CASBS at Stanford—at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The event brought together 33 thought leaders from business, venture capital, philanthropy, organized labor, higher education, and the public sector to review and provide feedback on the draft compact, “Building a Learning Society.” The ongoing Futures Project aims to develop a vision for national prosperity in response to dramatic technological and demographic shifts. The group has been meeting since September 2024 and will continue through September 2025.
Draft documents and opportunities for public feedback are available here.
