March 2025 Shift Monthly Meeting: Rebecca Wolfe and Paige Logan Prater

On March 25th, 2025, the Shift Project community gathered to learn about Rebecca Wolfe and Paige Logan Prater ‘s research on supportive workplaces for systems-involved young workers.

Guest Speaker

Rebecca Wolfe is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Shift Project. Her research centers on features of supportive or toxic workplaces for young workers, the role of retail and food service workers in neighborhoods and communities, and qualitative methods. Previously, Rebecca was a graduate student at the University of California, San Francisco and served as a graduate student researcher with the Shift Project.

Paige Logan Prater is a sociology doctoral student at UCSF, graduate student researcher with the Shift Project, and Policy and Advocacy Advisor at Ipas. She has cross-movement advocacy experience at international, national, and state levels and hopes to pursue community-driven research that explores structural determinants of health to support economic, social, and cultural change.

Presentation: “(Un)Supportive Workplaces for Systems-Involved Young Workers.” In this talk, Rebecca and Paige preview their report on supportive and toxic workplaces experiences for young, systems-involved workers. They offer a portrait of this population, assess their particular needs, and offer analyses on what makes a big difference for this vulnerable group.
