In March of 2018, the Shift Project produced a report on scheduling conditions in Connecticut that later informed legislative debates on a fair workweek bill. In June of 2021, we published an Op-Ed in the Connecticut Mirror drawing on this earlier research brief and our more recent findings on unstable schedules and their consequences. Subsequently, we were invited by Connecticut State Representatives Robyn Porter and Julie Kushner to provide testimony on March 8, 2022 at a Connecticut legislative hearing on HB 5353: An Act Concerning a Fair Work Week Schedule, and Co-PI Daniel Schneider shared our research findings in that hearing.
