Kristen Harknett and Danny Schneider participated in the 47th Association for Public Policy Analysis & Management (APPAM) Annual Fall Research Conference, titled “Forging Collaborations for Transformative and Resilient Policy Solutions,” that took place in Seattle, Washington, from November 13-15, 2025.
Kristen was the chair of a session on PSL policies and precarious work in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, where two collaborators presented papers using Shift data:
- Julia Goodman presented a paper co-authored by Danny and Kristen on the trends in working while sick in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic,
- Kess Ballentine presented a paper co-authored by Meredith Slopen, Danny, and Kristen, on paid sick leave, points, and presenteeism, the challenge of punitive workplace policies for public health goals.
In addition, Danny presented a paper co-authored by Tyler Woods on social support and precarious scheduling.
